Bourns to Host Renowned Guitar Technicians Dickson and Kelly in Summer NAMM Booth

Riverside, Calif., July 12, 2011 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced the company will have an exhibit at the Summer NAMM Show and will host renowned guitar technicians Lee Dickson and Will Kelly in the Bourns booth. Dickson and Kelly have worked with some of the world's most influential guitarists and will be demonstrating the value of using Bourns® potentiometers (pots), encoders and other components in the design of guitars and other pro audio products. Bourns' complete line of guitar potentiometers along with the company's portfolio of supporting pro audio products will be on display in Booth #306 at Summer NAMM July 21-23, 2011, which takes place at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Lee Dickson served as Eric Clapton's personal guitar technician for more than 30 years and presides over a vintage collection of some of the world's most expensive and famous guitars. Will Kelly is a highly respected guitar builder and a contributing writer for Vintage Guitar Magazine's popular monthly tech column, Shop of Hard Knocks. He recently featured the Bourns® Model 82 vintage guitar potentiometer in his May 2011 column entitled, "A Worthy Upgrade: Improved Tone with Just a Little Time, Money," where he advocates upgrades to quality potentiometers to improve tone.

"We are excited to have two of the world's leading guitar technicians in our booth for demonstrations during the Summer NAMM show," said Chuck Manzano, product manager at Bourns, Inc. "There is no greater endorsement for Bourns' line of guitar potentiometers than industry greats and notable technicians such as Lee Dickson and Will Kelly."

On display during the show will be Bourns' standard drop-in, mini, vintage and premium models plus dual potentiometer models for blend-balance control. The company's potentiometer design kits that facilitate the development of new and upgraded professional guitar amplifiers will be shown as well. The kits provide a variety of resistance values and tapers and can also be used as a service kit for guitar amplifier service technicians. Bourns' latest three-part video series that presents the differences between vintage and premium versus standard potentiometers will also be demonstrated. These latest videos are also available on the Bourns pro-audio multimedia webpage at www.bourns.com/proaudio and on the Bourns Pro Audio Channel on YouTube.

Additional components for the design and assembly of mixing consoles and peripheral equipment in the professional audio industry will be displayed. These products are specifically designed for use in professional audio, video, broadcast and lighting mixing consoles, as well as support peripheral equipment applications such as signal processors, amplifiers, and speaker systems.
