Bourns Acquires Telecom Protection Assets from Texas Instruments Sensors and Controls Division

RIVERSIDE, CA – January 17, 2003 – Bourns, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of the telecom protection assets of Texas Instruments' Sensors and Controls Division used for manufacturing Silicon-based over-voltage protection products for primary telecommunications applications. Additionally, Bourns re-acquired the distribution rights for both primary and secondary telecom protectors in North America. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
This transaction further strengthens Bourns position as a leading supplier of devices and solutions for the circuit protection market throughout the world. Bourns' Circuit Protection Division offers an extensive range of over-voltage and over-current protection devices including Thyristor Surge Protectors, Gas Discharge Tubes, Line Surge Protection modules, Resettable Fuses and Telecommunication Fuses as well as fully coordinated and integrated protection solutions.
