RIVERSIDE, Calif. – April 10, 2002 – Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer of electronic components and integrated solutions, today announced the introduction of the DSL Side Kit 7043 Series. The product is a compact housing with one POTS (plain old telephone service) splitter for use at the subscriber premises when the NID (Network Interface Device) has no vacant positions available.

Bourns' 7043 series accepts the incoming DSL service, filters off the voice channel, and provides a connection for DSL data service. The 7043 is compact and offers a unique, snap-in installation of the POTS splitter and mounts on the surface with two wood screws. The series provides telecom/broadband customers with no vacant space in the installed NID, but the need to add a DSL line, with an economical choice as there is no need to replace the existing NID with a larger box.

The 7043 series also offers a passive filter design which, in the event of a power loss, allows for lifeline POTS service, and is available in both ADSL and VDSL versions. The series is ANSI T1.413 and ANSI T1E1.4 compliant and UL Listed, meeting industry standards.
