Erik Meijer to Spearhead Bourns Circuit Protection Worldwide

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - August 20, 2002 - Following a two-year program to integrate the circuit protection activities of Bourns, Inc. and Power Innovations (PI), Dr. Erik Meijer has been appointed to the newly created position of Vice President - Circuit Protection reporting to John Halenda, President of Bourns Electronics. Mr. Halenda attributed much of the process integration and strategic planning effort to Ken Sanders, Managing Director of PI, who was primarily responsible for trimming down the Telecom Protection operation in response to the unprecedented market slowdown. Mr. Sanders has announced his intention to leave Bourns to pursue other interests once the transition is successfully completed. Mr. Halenda thanked Mr. Sanders for his leadership of PI since the acquisition by Bourns and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Under Dr. Meijer's direction, the new integrated Bourns Circuit Protection Operation combines sales and support for the broad range of proven circuit protection products, including Multifuse® PPTC resettable fuses, TISP® thyristor surge protectors, Gas Discharge Tubes and the new Line Protection Modules which combine multiple technologies within single modules.
