Bourns Joins Open Alliance Special Interest Group to Help Drive Ethernet as the Automotive Networking Standard

RIVERSIDE, Calif., April 6, 2016 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced that it has joined the OPEN Alliance (One-Pair Ether-Net) Special Interest Group (SIG) as an adopter member. The non-profit, open industry standards group is comprised of mainly automotive industry and technology providers. The goal of OPEN Alliance is for companies to work together to promote broad Ethernet-based adoption as the automotive networking standard. Since its inception, the OPEN Alliance SIG has grown to more than 200 members.

To ensure maximum interoperability and open standards compliance, Bourns plans to be a licensee of the SIGs 100Mbps BroadR-Reach® physical layer specification when it is complete and approved."
