Bourns Expands its SinglFuse™ SMD Fuse Line with Two New Automotive Grade Model Families

The New 150 °C rated AEC-Q200 Compliant* Model Series are Ideal for Applications Requiring Rugged Overcurrent Protection with High Reliability

RIVERSIDE, Calif., June 15, 2021 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today expanded the company's SinglFuse™ product line with two new automotive-grade SMD fuse model families. The Bourns® Model SF-0603SA-M and SF-1206SA-M series are fully compliant with Bourns' internal AEC-Q200 equivalency test procedure, providing rugged overcurrent protection for a broad range of harsh environment applications that require long life and high reliability. While the AEC-Q200 standard may be specific to automotive testing and qualification, the enhanced product designs and robust performance required to meet this standard can be of benefit across a broad spectrum of industrial, low-to-medium risk medical, off-highway transportation, factory automation, and communication system applications as well.

The SinglFuse™ SF-0603SA-M and SF-1206SA-M model series each feature slow blow fusing speed, which is defined as a room temperature clearing time categorization of five seconds at 250 percent of the rated current. The new model families are available in small EIA 0603 and 1206 footprints, and utilize Bourns' advanced multilayer ceramic design that enables enhanced voltage and current handling capabilities in ambient operating temperatures up to 150 °C. In addition, the latest SinglFuse™ models are constructed using a ceramic multilayer technology that delivers enhanced reliability against thermal shock, salt spray and mechanical vibration in elevated operating temperatures within rated specifications.

The SF-0603SA-M series offers current ratings from 0.5 A to 8 A with voltage ratings from 24 Vdc to 65 Vdc, while the SF-1206SA-M model family provides current ratings from 0.5 A to 5 A with a 65 Vdc voltage rating.

As electronic systems become increasingly integrated, interconnected, and sensitive to outside influences, overcurrent conditions can cause damage, reduce a product's lifespan, degrade the efficiency of a device, and in extreme cases bodily harm. For this reason, Bourns continues to develop innovative fuse products to address the growing need for effective overcurrent protection across a wide range of applications and operating environments.

Available now, Bourns® SF-0603SA-M and SF-1206SA-M models are UL 248-14 compliant, RoHS** compliant and halogen free***. For additional product information, please see: www.bourns.com/products/circuit-protection/singlfuse-smd-fuses-aec-q200-compliant
