As you are probably aware, the current COVID-19 outbreak continues to cause disruptions to supply chains around the world. Many governmental authorities continue to require non-essential businesses to take protective measures to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 disease, including temporarily ceasing production and sending employees home.
On June 15th, 2021 the Malaysia Government had announced the extension of Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 until the 28th of June. Up to June 20th, 2021 our associated production site for Magnetic Components in Seri Kembangan / Kuala Lumpur was able to maintain partial operations due to exempt status.
Unfortunately, there were now also Covid-19 positive cases detected among employees of this production site which require, according to the applicable governmental regulations, a complete closure of the factory due to necessary sanitizing measures and isolation of employees in close contact with COVID-19 positive cases.
The closure of the production site is anticipated to last at least until June 28th, 2021. No shipments will be made from the factory due to complete lockdown.
Our Planner Team in Taiwan is working to determine the possible impact of this complete shutdown of the Malaysia factory on the open orders backlog. We aim to communicate delays in support of your orders as quickly as possible via our global Customer Service Team.

At the same time, Bourns will make every effort to resume operation of the production facility as soon as possible. We ALL have to work together to protect each other and be prepared when the crisis passes, and normal operations resume.
