Bourns Showcases Industry-Leading Breadth of AEC-Q200 Qualified Components in New Automotive Component Selection Guide

RIVERSIDE, Calif., April 5, 2016 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, has published a new Automotive Component Selection Guide that showcases the company's breadth of AEC-Q200 qualified components. In the latest short form brochure, Bourns lists its broad selection of AEC-Q200 products that include resistors and magnetics that condition and filter electronic circuits. Complementing Bourns' circuit conditioning products is its large portfolio of circuit protection products designed specifically for automotive applications. These products satisfy the component requirements of next-generation lighting, comfort and positioning, networking, electrification and infotainment applications.

AEC-Q200 is a global automotive standard for passive components that ensures temperature, pressure resistance and safety consistency. For products to be AEC-Q200 qualified, they must pass a rigorous series of tests. Bourns has extensive experience designing, building and supplying high reliability AEC-Q200 compliant components. All the company's passive components approved for automotive designs are tested and qualified using the AEC-Q200 specification, and are manufactured in facilities that are fully certified to TS 16949. Bourns also performs surge tests and offers application and customer-specific testing giving customers access to its application test lab.

"Bourns' wide range of AEC-Q200 qualified products ensures automotive and other mission-critical applications of high-quality solutions for increasingly sophisticated and complex designs that must operate in harsh environments," said John Kelly, vice president and general manager of the consumer division of Bourns. "Leveraging our proven history of supplying the automotive market with quality sensor products, Bourns' standards-based inductive and circuit protection components reliably help designers meet the board-level requirements of many automotive applications."
