在 LED 照明应用中,固态照明灯具通常配置了多个串联 LED,通过一个高压恒流电源来驱动。

该配置优点如下:
  • 多个 LED 可以串联形式进行安装,简化了电源设计。
  • 高压低流电源有助于提高供电效率。
  • 模块化设计可轻松改变大小,例如使用 1 W 请去掉复数形式,通过多串 8 x 1 W LED 即可轻松设计出 8 W、16 W、24 W 或 32 W 的配置。
  • 设计一盏 LED 路灯需要 6 串 LED,每串 15 个,总共 90 个 LED。
LED 开路分流保护 (LSP) 产品专门设计用于 LED,使其在开路失效模式下仍能工作。当一个 LED 开路时,将导致整串 LED 熄灭,使照明应用无法工作或受到严重影响。这可能会导致产品需要返厂维修或上门维修。

为了符合能源之星评级要求,LED 照明灯具必须:
  • 提供 3 年质保期
  • 产生大于 70 % 的新的光输出达 3.5 万小时(居民用电:2.5 万小时)。
虽然低功率 LED 串式设计可能已经发挥出齐纳二极管的功能,但高功率 LED 仍需要巨大且昂贵的齐纳二极管。在 LED 串中横向置入一个伯恩斯® LSP 开路分流保护设备,可使照明应用在一个 LED 出现开路故障时,该串其余 LED 仍能继续工作。LED 开路分流保护 (LSP) 设备在工作状态时耗电量比 LED 更少。
