In this role you will be the primary point of contact for providing Trimpot Product technical information and service to customers, sales representatives, distributors and Bourns sales personnel. This role is the focal point for customer and part specific knowledge. You must understand the requirements for specification review, special orders and quality/corrective action requests. This role also assists Product Line Management in coordinating forecasts, product life cycle, and planning.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Serves as liaison to customers, sales personnel and engineering for all product technical questions and applications for Trimpot® Products.
  2. Reviews customer requirements and drawings or specifications to determine the appropriate standard product that will meet the required performance characteristics, package configuration, or requirements of the customer.
  3. In coordination with sales, completes appropriate discovery including technical and all commercial aspects to recommend a special, non-standard part number. Responsible for all aspects of the Customer Engineering Inquiries (C.I.). Responsible for the Technical Number Assignment (TNA) for the nonstandard part.
  4. Assists or Initiates Quality Corrective Action Requests. Responsible for timely answer to the customer. Tracks all CAR's for analysis of problems and issues. Recommends and works with factories to prioritize the quality issues. Monitors Quality Corrective Action Requests on quality questions, and coordinates reports results to customer, sales representative, or Regional Sales office as appropriate.
  5. Communicates information to Product Manager to aid in the development of Marketing/Engineering product plans and updates. Through an understanding of customer needs, or problems, or competitive information, recommends new product ideas.
  6. Responsible for maintaining and publishing all competitive updates, cross-references and technical evaluations that are used as sales tools. Coordinates with Marcom for production of and release of selling tools.
  7. Responsible for preparation and review of technical data for use in product data sheets, product advertising, sales promotion, field training materials, product introductions and any technical aspect of a sales proposals. Keeps all data up to date and verifies published data is correct.
  8. Responsible for the SAP maintenance tasks assigned to the marketing function in the areas of documentation as it pertains to customer drawing records (CDR's), customer part numbers and other customer related issues.
  9. Assists in the administration of samples.
  10. Completes monthly report information, as determined by PLM.
  11. Understands all test requirements and procedures for Trimpot® products, including industry standards.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or other scientific field, or equivalent education, experience and/or training.
  • At least one or more years of progressive sales / engineering experience and the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct security risk assessments for Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT), and various Business Departments, and work with related owners to track identified gap remediation to completion.
  • Manage external Vulnerability and Penetration testing and track the remediation of identified vulnerabilities to completion.
  • Manage and oversee internal infrastructure and application vulnerability management program, including tools used, procedures, remediation, and reporting.

  • Manage and monitor the investigation, root cause analysis (RCA), and remediation of Security Incidents. Conduct or oversee any needed forensics investigations and support legal team and management with incident response measures as needed.
  • Partner with Legal team in maintaining the Cybersecurity aspects of third party contracts and non-disclosure documents and monitoring third party compliance of these agreements.
  • Review cybersecurity risks associated with new technology solutions, services, applications, and infrastructure, ensuring their compliance with security policies and standards.

  • Periodically test and update the Incident Response and Disaster Recovery policies and procedures.

Communications :
Oral:

Basic Job Requirements:
Education:

  • BSEE degree is required with a preference for MSEE. A degree in any engineering discipline, physics or science may be acceptable with adequate demonstration of electrical engineering experience and competence.

  • Strong background in power supply design is required.
  • Five years of previous work experience in power electronics is required.
  • Experience in IGBT / MOSFET product lines, circuit protection and/or power solutions will be a significant advantage.
  • Experience in board-level circuit design required. Consumer, Industrial or Automotive sector design experience is a major plus.
  • Detailed knowledge of power application design platforms and tools is essential.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Weekend shift lead/technician – This position will be a direct report to the main Section Supervisor who oversees production and priorities during the week. They will also be required to have the skill and ability to set-up the active production equipment and maintain its normal operation. This would include dry press, kilns, cell sorter, and laser. It is also expected that this shift lead be capable of performing the required tasks and operations of the QA auditor and able to serve as a back-up if the need arises.
  2. The QA auditor is a direct report to the QA manager but is under the daily direction of the Weekend Shift Lead. This position is required to conduct in process audits during production and expected to verify conformity of finished product.
  3. Two laser operators are direct reports to the Section Supervisor but are under daily direction of the Weekend Shift Lead. They are tasked with preforming all production tasks needed to manufacture laser product through the area.
  4. Three production operators are direct reports to the Section Supervisor but are under daily direction of the Weekend Shift Lead. These operators will be tasked to perform operations in dry press, kiln operations, cleaning, cell sorting, and packaging as required and directed by supervision.

  1. BASIC PURPOSE:
    • Plans, coordinates, conducts and supervises assignments relating to the development of products, processes or systems for improved performance, quality, reliability and profitability. Develops major new product and process introduction with a high degree of complexity. Coordinates with Design, process and manufacturing engineering and is responsible for all aspects of the new product development process from customer interface to production implementation. Provides sustained engineering support for existing worldwide high-volume product lines, including support for worldwide Field Applications Engineering.
  2. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):
    1. Work with Product Line Manager, sales and application engineers to create products that meet defined new product requirements.
    2. Demonstrate deep understanding of Semiconductor Physics and high level of competency with Design of Experiments, wafer fabrication technology and electrical testing to design, build and assess prototype products.
    3. Proficient user of Silvaco Computer Aided Design and layout tools
    4. Document and present proposals for new designs and design changes for review by the product development team and investigate any feedback on the product design to create an optimized device and process flow.
    5. Work as part of the new product introduction team to achieve successful release of new products into production.
    6. Personally performs complex and novel work assignments pertaining to device modeling development, and qualification of complex technology and products.
    7. Completes engineering documentation package including product data sheets, to support successful new product launch or product/process implementation IATF16949 standard or better.
    8. Performs and develops product characterization, test and failure analysis techniques supporting product development, enhancement, reliability and customer applications.
    9. Applies knowledge and experience of SPC, DOE, DFM, FMEA, six-sigma process in all products and processes.
    10. Advises on new ideas, robust design/processes.
    11. Provides engineering support for sustaining existing semiconductor products, of which we have a wide range, and ensuring that new products may be converted from development to production status.
    12. Provides technical training to new engineering or plant personnel and consultations to other departments, companies and business units.
    13. Ensures the early participation of process and manufacturing engineering, purchasing and other functions in the development process.
    14. Solves chronic problems (quality, performance and cost) related to products and processes using new materials, technologies, design, SPC, DOE or other techniques.
    15. Stay informed on trends and developments in the electronics and surge protection industry through trade publications, trade shows, seminars or outside studies; performs other related duties as required.

    • TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated ability to perform the above functions, combined with progressive Engineering experience and the proven capability to design, develop and release products, processes or equipment of major scope and a high degree of complexity.
    • SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of surge protection technology with emphasis on semiconductor protection components. Engineering background in surge protective devices and a basic understanding of general application circuits that require protection. Knowledge of electrical measurement techniques used in the circuit protection industry. Experience working in circuit protection device characterization, test, reliability and failure analysis. Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards covering voltage and overcurrent protection (or similar experience in power electronic components).
    • OTHER SKILLS:
      • Time management and organizational skills. Capable of managing own work and deliverables with little supervision.
      • Flexible and able to work in a demanding environment, Working alternate early and late shift.
